When the time came to select our venue, we knew we wanted something that really represented both of us as a couple. A mix of natural and modern industrial design, complemented with beautiful surroundings and delicious, well-crafted food.
We started with a Google search for “barn wedding” and quickly discovered the local venues were a bit too… “rustic.” The idea of stepping off of the dance floor onto dirt, grass and hay seems romantic, but not in fancy dresses and heels!
We chanced upon the website of The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls, a brand new venue in Beacon, N.Y., that was under development. One look at design plans and we fell in love.

The venue consist of several reclaimed industrial buildings covering approximately six acres of land. The site originally began as the Matteawan Manufacturing Company (an early textile mill) and later became the site of the nation’s first lawnmower factory as well as a millinery (hat factory) before being transformed into its new incarnation as a LEED-certified (eco-friendly) multipurpose event, restaurant and hospitality space.
The Roundhouse is built along the Fishkill Creek, next to the “mighty” Beacon Falls. The main event space has enormous wraparound paned-glass windows opening up onto a patio and terraced garden area with views of Mount Beacon to the east. Upstairs is an art gallery and the site of our cocktail hour. The oldest building on the property (the titular Roundhouse) has been transformed into a small boutique hotel, lounge, and restaurant named Swift, which is directed by Executive Chef Brandon Collins (formerly of the Garrison), who will be providing the delicious meal for our wedding!
We’ve been visiting as development progressed and watching the transformation from conceptual drawings to reality. We’ve also had dinner at Swift and highly recommend it!
They’re still dotting some ‘i’s and crossing some ‘t’s, but we’re looking forward to celebrating our big day in a truly amazing (and very “us”) place along with all of our friends and family!
